Sounds like a hangover. It is. A food hangover. When you eat junk food you can often feel kinda sick. At the moment you start eating – this is not what’s on your mind.
Think about it. Is eating and then feeling bad – the way you want to live? This shows in a variety of ways. Could be a sugar reaction, like a stomach ache. Or too many carbohydrates that drug you to sleep because you weren’t active enough to burn them off. Maybe it’s loaded with bad fats so you wake up bloated.
Is that any fun? Well, not for me. And I am guessing you’d agree.
Pleasure. That is what food should be about.
Not just how does this bite taste. It wipes out any enjoyment if you have to spend the next 48 hours recovering.
If you try out my recommendation to eat for pleasure, please expand beyond the “immediate pleasure”.
Choose foods that look, smell and taste great. But also, they hit the stomach well, digest without having to call 911. And make you feel healthy and energetic once they are in your system.
Anything that doesn’t fit that list, needs to be reconsidered. Move towards Pleasure in the fullest sense: before, during and after you eat it. You will thank yourself for it.
